Meet Another of Our Helpful Employees, Mary!

Mary and her husband, Jim, moved to Tennessee from western New York in December of 2020.  Not long after settling in Gray, she began working at Elizabeth Dean Boutique because she just couldn’t stay fully retired!  The employees and customers of the boutique hold a special place in her heart,  as they have become her friends and family in her new home town.
Mary and Jim have been married for 6 years and they have 3 grown children between them back in New York.  Mary’s daughter got married in 2023 and she also has 2 “bonus” sons,  with the eldest making her a Nana last February!

Some of her passions are paper crafts and gardening.  If she isn’t out tending her flowerbeds, you will most likely find her tucked away in the amazing craft room her husband built for her working on her handmade cards, journals or scrapbooks.  Mary and her husband enjoy the outdoors and hike the nearby state parks as often as they can.  They love to travel and will drive almost anywhere to see one of their favorite Christian artists.
Mary is an active member of Strong Tower Baptist Church.  She participates in many church events, sings in the choir (even though according to her,  she cannot carry a tune) and this past year she and a friend started a card ministry.

As for her dislikes, she definitely thinks the world would be a better place without spiders.  Heights turn her legs into jelly (even climbing stairs without backs on them is a terrifying experience she tries to avoid).
At the boutique, one of her favorite things to do is working with jewelry, which is a good thing, because most everyone else is not fond of it.  She enjoys chatting with customers and especially loves their appreciation when she scoops up their armloads of clothes and tucks them in a dressing room.  Making customers feel waited on and special is at the top of her list.
As for fashion choices, Mary usually leans towards earth tones,  with an emphasis on comfort and softness.   Working at the boutique has certainly elevated her fashion sense.  She wears more dresses now than she ever has and has developed a shoe obsession!  Earrings are definitely her favorite accessory and if she leaves the house without a pair, she does not feel fully dressed.
Mary says one of the best things about working at the boutique is that it’s never dull…especially on those days when Tricia says:  “Hey, I have this idea……..”.  You just never know what’s next at Elizabeth Dean Boutique , but you know that whatever it is, it will be FABULOUS!

Come and visit us at  Elizabeth Dean Boutique and let Mary help you put together a fantastic new outfit!
